The Classic Pro uses simple rocker switches rather than a digital display, which actually makes electrical diagnosis more straightforward than on many modern machines.

01Check the outlet and cord

Test the outlet with another appliance, and inspect the power cord along its full length for damage. This alone resolves a meaningful share of "dead machine" cases before anything else needs checking.

02Power rocker switch itself has failed

Rocker switches are a simple mechanical part that can fail after years of use. If the switch doesn't click firmly or feels loose, it may no longer be completing the circuit โ€” this is a common, inexpensive repair on this model.

03Blown thermal fuse

The boiler's thermal fuse can blow if the machine overheats, often as a downstream result of scale buildup on the heating element over years of hard water use. This requires opening the top panel (two Phillips screws on the rear) to access and replace โ€” see the official service manual for the exact procedure.

Before you open anything Unplug the machine and wait at least 15 minutes for residual heat in the boiler to dissipate before removing any panels.
