The machine boots normally and accepts your selection, but nothing comes out of the spouts. This is almost always a blockage or a water supply problem rather than an electrical fault.

01Water tank empty or airlocked

Check the tank level, and if it was run dry recently, run a few cycles of hot water dispensing (via the hot water/steam function) to help purge any trapped air from the internal lines before attempting a full brew again.

02Clogged brew unit or spouts

Coffee oil and fine grounds can build up inside the brew group (infuser) or the dispensing spouts over time, restricting flow to the point of stopping it entirely. Remove the brew group per your model's manual and rinse it thoroughly under running water โ€” see our brewing half a cup guide if you're getting a partial rather than zero flow.

03Descale needed

Heavy scale buildup can restrict internal water flow enough to stop dispensing altogether, particularly in hard water areas. See our descale light guide if you suspect this and the light isn't cooperating.

Quick check Try dispensing hot water only (no coffee) first. If that also fails, the problem is upstream in the water system rather than coffee-specific โ€” focus on the tank, air lock, and general water path rather than the grinder or brew unit.

04Bean hopper empty or beans not feeding

If you're using whole beans and the hopper appears full but nothing is grinding, check that beans aren't bridging (jamming above the grinder outlet without falling through) โ€” gently shake or stir the hopper to release them.
