Errors 03 and 04 both relate to the removable brew group โ the whole point of Saeco's design is that it comes out without tools, rinses under the tap, and clicks back into one correct position.

01Error 03 โ brew group is dirty
Too much buildup on the brew group prevents it from working properly.
- Switch off the machine and wait until it's fully silent (15-20 seconds).
- Open the service door and remove the brew group.
- Rinse thoroughly with lukewarm water only โ no soap.
- Let it air-dry completely before placing it back.
Prevent it recurring
A weekly rinse plus a monthly regrease of the guide rails with food-grade brew group grease keeps the mechanism moving freely enough to lock and cycle without triggering this error again.
02Error 04 โ brew group not correctly inserted
Open the service door and push the brew group firmly into place until you hear a distinct click. A group that goes back in only slightly proud of its seat will throw this error immediately โ push until you hear the click, not just until it looks flush.
03If you can't remove the brew group at all
The machine needs to be in its neutral position to release the group:
- Replace the coffee ground container and drip tray, and close the service door.
- Press ON/OFF to switch the machine fully off, and wait for silence.
- Set the main power switch on the back to OFF, then back ON (or unplug/replug if there's no separate switch).
- Try removing the brew group again once the machine completes its restart cycle.
