  1. Switch the machine OFF and wait until it's completely off and silent (about 15-20 seconds).
  2. Remove the brew group.
  3. Unblock the coffee funnel — insert the handle of a spoon into the pre-ground coffee compartment (next to the bean hopper) and move it up and down until the clogged grounds fall through.
  4. For stubborn blockages, follow up with extra cleaning using a vacuum cleaner on the funnel opening.
  5. Reinsert the brew group and make a test cup, checking whether the container is still clogged.
Prevention This error is more common if you regularly use the pre-ground coffee compartment (rather than whole beans) with a very fine grind or damp grounds, both of which pack down more easily. A brief clean of this compartment every few weeks reduces recurrence.
